This year was highlighted
by the many bands and musical groups that participated
in the all day, non-stop event.
Simultaneously on the west side of the park on the Great
Lawn, the Dali Lama was holding another event for peace.
This was a tremendous day for New Yorkers. Central Park
became an epicenter for reverberating peace. At 12 noon,
the ‘Nations’ parade launched from 57th
Street and through Central Park to reach the Bandshell
stage for the opening ceremony led by the Uruguayan
drummers and a national custom clad entourage.
The afternoon was highlighted by a young boy from
the crowd who called us all unto peace with a poem
that he had created, it was truly an emotional moment.
The event was filmed and documented by the Good News
Broadcasting System and enhanced by Paul Sladkus’s
presence.
Performers and artists included The Uruguayans Tramborileros
Drumming, New Seminary Choir, His Holiness Professor
Lin Yun, Gloria Karpinksy, >>> |
